Mooring Terms & Conditions
- Mooring charges are payable annually and in advance. The amount of fees payable are those presently in force or agreed with the proprietor and will be subject to yearly review.
- Minimum stay 6 months. 3 months notice is required to terminate a mooring agreement.
- The mutual notice period to terminate your mooring is 3 calendar months. However, any serious breach of these terms and conditions may mean the proprietor reserves the right to terminate forthwith.
- If selling your boat while moored at Mill Island, the new mooring application will only be considered subject to approval.
- Mooring fees are not transferable and should not be negotiated as part of a boat sale. Any remaining fees unused after the sale is completed will be refunded in whole months only and after a 3% commission fee has been deducted along with the cost of any electric, which has been consumed.
- All electric is charged at the current rate of 35 pence per unit, which includes the rental of the electric metre.
- Boats shall not be used for accommodation purposes (no live-on-boards). The maximum stay in any week is 3 nights. Special circumstances will be given due consideration. Under no circumstances may boats be hired out from Mill Island.
- One car will be allowed access per boat. Visitors or family must park in The Shallows car park, this is without exception and must be adhered to with any visitors being escorted on to the premises without access to the security code or side gate key.
- Boaters must wait for the electric gates to fully open before driving through and ensure that only the side gate is used for visitors on foot (this is to help prevent the gates from malfunctioning).
- Internal works may be carried out on your boats (without disturbing others) while moored at Mill Island, ensuring pontoons and walkways are kept clear and unspoilt at all times. All rubbish must be taken with you daily. Please ensure you use the steps provided to gain access where neccessary.
- Moorers must appreciate others using the site at all times, and not do anything that may be considered a nuisance. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and prevented from fouling on the lawns or walkways.
- The hygiene facilities have recently been refurbished at a cost for the comfort of our Moorers. Please therefore ensure that you leave them in a clean condition after use.
- All boats moored, equipment and cars are stored or parked at the sole risk of the owner. It is the Moorer’s responsibility to ensure that their boat is secure, especially in severe weather conditions.
- Access side gate key and electric unit requires a deposit of £200, refundable when key is returned at the end of the mooring agreement, providing there are no outstanding fees or electric or any damage caused.
- Children must be wearing life jackets when on pontoon walkways and must not run as underfoot may be slippery.
